Compensation Overview

The hourly salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual hourly rate for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

The goal of the internship is to attract and develop self-motivated individuals who are highly skilled and passionate about a career in data science or technology while providing a foundation for future success within the organization. As an intern, you will be exposed to a challenging professional work experience with planned activities giving you insight into the insurance industry, and the many ways we solve business problems using cutting edge statistical and analytical techniques. You will assist in designing, developing, and programming methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured and structured, diverse data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. With many company-wide and community outreach events, you will have the opportunity to interact and network with many levels of leadership and management.

What Will You Do?

The AI Summer Internship provides qualified students an excellent opportunity to work on real-world projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI technologies.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, integrating, and structuring complex data flows
  • Designing and building statistical models, analyses at the right level of complexity to produce relevant results for the business
  • Validating, manipulating, and performing data analysis tasks
  • Providing qualitative and quantitative data support to ensure accuracy of metrics
  • Collaborating with team members on projects as directed
  • Performing other duties as assigned


What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Currently enrolled in Undergraduate or Graduate program in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience with a programming language (Python, R, SAS, etc.)
  • Strong track record of taking ownership and responsibility for actions and outcomes, performance, and results
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills; ability to analyze data, synthesize and compare information to understand issues, identify cause/effect relationships and explore alternative solutions to support sound decision making
  • Ability to remain energized and focused in the face of ambiguity, change or strenuous demands
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to actively engage with others while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Strong relationship management skills including the ability to seek out, build, foster, and maintain productive relationships, networks or alliances to meet goals and achieve results
  • Ability to work together in situations when actions are interdependent, and a team is mutually responsible to produce a result
  • Possession of a strong work ethic; inquisitive and demonstrates a strong willingness to learn


What is a Must Have?

  • Obtained or pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree required
  • You must be 18 years of age to apply
