Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$106,300.00 - $175,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Job Profile & Description Summary

Under general supervision, demonstrates a thorough understanding of the features, functions and roles related to engineering support, utilization and/or operations of security technologies. Plans at an operational level designing and developing technology solutions interfacing with appropriate customers, management and technical resources. Facilitates and/or participates in the design, development, and planning of large complex technology solutions supporting Cybersecurity controls and operations. Develops and implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware technologies and tools. Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities.

What Will You Do?

  • Evaluate security solutions and platforms to understand valuable functionality that is unused or underutilized and recommend enhancements or additional implementations, training and application of functionality across Cybersecurity.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and create alignment with overall Travelers Cybersecurity organizational needs.
  • Interface with software vendors and employees within the organization with regards to emerging technologies and new product testing
  • Be a partner in the enterprise design roadmap, providing business, governance and technical recommendations.
  • Participate in the Request for Information (RFI) process with vendors on exploration of emerging tools Travelers is interested in investigating.
  • Assist in the onboarding of emerging technologies in either a Proof of Technology or a Proof of Concept fashion
  • Partner with architecture teams on enhancing the overall strategic vision for Travelers Cybersecurity technology road map.
  • Align with standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy.
  • Responsible for understanding Palo Alto, AWS resources, MS Azure , MS Defender, Splunk, SOAR, Proofpoint, Axonious, Sailpoint, DLP Platforms and other Cyber and corporate platforms.
  • Meet with key stakeholders, e.g. Cybersecurity Technology Managers and provide project updates and metrics.
  • Evaluates systems specifications regarding customer requirements, transforming specifications into cost-effective, technically correct solutions.
  • Prioritizes work and manages projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities




    What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

    • 5+ years of experience in Technology preferred.
    • Mastery knowledge in primary security products; ability to integrate primary products into overall security program; access control systems; and security models, principles and concepts
    • Responsible for understanding Palo Alto, AWS resources, MS Azure , MS Defender, Splunk, SOAR, Proofpoint, Axonious, Sailpoint, DLP Platforms and other Cyber and corporate platforms.
    • Mastery knowledge in primary security products for:  monitoring performance & tuning; installation & configuration; and implementing customizations.
    • Demonstrated ability to self-teach/self-learn new technologies and apply them to problems.
    • Experience providing technical direction to project teams preferred.


    What is a Must Have?

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Five years of work experience within Computer Science or a related field required.
