Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$91,200.00 - $150,500.00

What Is the Opportunity?
At Travelers, we ensure the data supporting the company's internal and external financial reporting is accurately defined, controlled, and processed through financial systems in the most effective way to support the organization. As a Manager, Accounting, you will provide subject matter expertise on evaluation and implementation of system enhancements, new and changing business requirements, such as organizational changes and mergers and acquisitions. Partnering closely with business peers, Technology, and Operational areas, you will define, test, and implement updates across all systems to meet the changing business and technology needs. You will provide guidance and information to your assigned customers on a majority of different and complex topics. You will manage and guide two direct reports by setting work objectives, providing coaching, training, and mentoring, and handling management tasks such as performance reviews, career development, and talent acquisition

What Will You Do?
- Ensure and review consistency, accuracy, timeliness, validity, and completeness of financial data.
- Complete and review complex financial activities for supported lines of business including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Compile and review financial data for variance analysis and reporting against expectations leveraging reporting tools, extracting data, and making recommendations based on trends or abnormalities.
- Review, adjust, and recommend enhancements support documentation meeting all control standards including MAR and SOX 404 and 302 requirements.
- Oversee updates to system tables and edits to meet business requirements and ensure data consistency across financial systems and may manage the foreign currency values and rates and/or translation rules.
- Review and approve security access updates.
- Manage enhancement queue in partnership with IT utilizing Agile methodology.
- Meet with customers to understand and define business data requirements applying understanding of overall data relationships, mapping lineage, and business rules to process business changes and system enhancements.
- Lead in development of project plans and engagement of project team(s).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor’s Degree with business degree and five years of professional work experience in financial, accounting, technology, or related.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends and provide insights and recommendations to business partners.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to consult on projects and present information effectively.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to ensure timely completion.
- Ability to think strategically and use judgement to resolve issues as they arise.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Business Intelligence platforms (e.g., SQL).

- Three years related professional experience.
